Discouraged

Well, the title says it all. I'm fairly discouraged with this already. Weight loss is hard. I know that. That doesn't make it any less discouraging though. That also doesn't mean that I'm giving up.

Ok, now that I got that out, lets get back to important things. I got in a 1.5 mile run on Friday morning and a damn good strength training workout in yesterday. I'm hurting today but I know it's all going to be worth it when i get rid of some of this weight and feel better about myself. Today will be full of studying and cleaning, but I am also hoping to get a short run in at some point. I also joined an adult soccer league today which I am super excited about. Not only will it add a built in work out on Sundays for games, but I am a complete soccer lover and have been since I was a little kid.

Aside from that, I switched back to my iPhone Friday which also means I no longer have the galaxy calorie counter app that is built into the phone. I did a little bit of research and decided on an app called "Lose It!"It seems to have the best reviews and also has the capability of scanning barcodes to add nutrition information on food items which is something that the galaxy didn't do and I really like to have. It also says that to lose 2 pounds a week my calories need to be at 1420, which is almost 300 lower than what the galaxy said. Which apps do you guys use? Pros and cons? I would love to hear from you!

Thanks for reading! :)

Just a little introduction

Hello! I figure my first post should just be an introduction so I can tell you a little about myself. I am 24 years old, work full time, and am a part time student. I won't bore you with the details of my job, just that it involves having my own office which I thouroughly enjoy. :) I have an amazing girlfriend named Crystal that I love more than I even though possible! She is perfect for me and I can't imagine life without her. We have an american bulldog mix name Gemma who is my babygirl and obviously a momma's girl anytime I'm around. We are also fostering a husky named Remi for a year or so to help a friend out so you will be hearing plenty about them even though this blog has nothing to do with them. I'm just a proud fur momma!

There's my adorable children! (Whom aren't supposed to be on the couch, but they're so damn cute!) I also wanted to add a picture of Crystal and I but the computer won't let me. (I'm sure I'll be hearing about that from her later though.)

Anyway, one of the reasons I wanted to upload the picture of us was so that you could see what I look like weighing around 207 pounds. That is the most I've ever weighed and I absolutely can't stand to see that number on the scale or, frankly, to even look at myself in the mirror. I will do my best to add a picture when I am on my computer at home tonight. In the last week, I have lost 6 pounds and weighed in this morning at 201.2. (My personal goal is to be under 200 by monday morning.) All I have really done this week is eat healthy and I went to the gym on Monday morning. The plan was to work out 5 days this week but things got in the way and that just hasn't happened. My goal is to work out tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday though so I am at least close to the 5 day goal.

My biggest downfall is getting up and going to the gym. Healthy eating is pretty easy for me as I love fruits and veggies. For example today for lunch I had a whole wheat wrap with 2 slices of turkey, 2 slices of ham, a tiny bit of honey mustard, and sliced cucumbers on it as well as carrots and cucumber with hummus, a few honey wheat pretzels, and a small pack of fruit snacks for "dessert."

The other big part of this I forgot to mention is that I am doing Herbalife shakes in the morning and also for dinner on the evenings that I have class because I go straight from work to school. If I try any herbalife recipes and absolutely love them, I will be sure to share them with you. Lifewise, if anybody uses the vanilla powder and wants to share recipes with me, I would greatly appreciate it. Actually, in closing, I might as well share the one with you that I have been drinking pretty regularly over the last week.

1/2 cup canned pumpkin (not pie filling, just pumpkin)
1/2 cup vanilla greek yogurt
2 scoops of the meal replacement powder
Cinnamon to taste
6 ice cubes
A small amount of water

It seriously tastes like pumpkin pie in a cup and I love it!
